2024 AGM

Dear members,
On 1 June 2024 at 10:00 am the club will host the Annual General Meeting. The doors will open around 9:00, allowing members onto site to have a brew and maybe some preliminary discussion. Please note that the club will NOT be open for shooting during the morning session of 1 June 2024. However, all members attending the meeting can shoot free of charge during the afternoon.

All members are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting and cast their vote as the meeting will primarily focus on a pressing issue that affects us all.
At the club, in the old merchandise display, in the entrance corridor, you can find all the documentation relating to the AGM; the notification with the date and time of the meeting, the meeting agenda, and the Committee sign-up sheet.

The main topic for this AGM will be an increase in prices; membership fees and range fees for members and visitors but also brews and food will have to increase. Rather than pushing a single aspect of club costs up, we want to spread the price increases across all services the club offers.

Please note that this will be the first price increase the club has seen in more than 5 years.
Of course, this is not something we want but it is something we can no longer avoid.

The full figures will be presented at the AGM in order to give you full transparency before casting your vote. However, in broad lines it boils down to:
The increase in energy costs over the past two years, which we’ve all felt, has pushed the club to the point where we are only just breaking even, with little or no money going into the investment fund.
This coming year, we face a significant increase in the minimum/living wage paid to our range staff. As a result, we face a gap in the budget of roughly 14%.
Effectively, this means the club needs to generate roughly £14,000 in additional revenue to break even.

The proposed price increases and changes are calculated purely on covering the 14% deficit we face. We hope, of course, that increasing attendance numbers can provide something for the investment fund as well, but that would be a ‘bonus’ from increased popularity.

Below you can find the agenda for this meeting. If you have any business you wish to be raised at the AGM, please contact a member of the Committee and make sure your request/proposal is forward to myself (Wes Groot) the secretary so that it can be added to the agenda.
